Oddly enough, one of the best American restaurants in town is owned and run by Czechs. While many menu items – the chicken wings or the ribs, for instance – are far from healthy, Ambiente does have lighter options such as entree-sized baked potatoes or the salad bar. Ambiente is as popular as it is good, and it is necessary to book even a small table several days in advance.

Tipping
A service charge is rarely included in restaurant bills in Prague. Most people will tell you to “round the bill up.” Accordingly, the general concensus is to round the bill up to the nearest multiple of ten. In fancy restaurants, or for large groups, it is recommended that people give a tip of 10 percent. Rather than leaving the money behind on the table, indicate to the server the total amount, including the tip which you’d like to leave.
